Winter 2013

A lot of things have changed at the practice since our last news update.

We have now finished the refurbishment of the whole practice with Steven’s surgery being the last thing to be updated last April.

Heidi Fitzwilliam has moved on from her foundation year here and is getting on well in her 2nd foundation year at Brighton/Eastbourne hospital’s. Jonathan Macartney has replaced her at the practice and has settled in well during the first few months of being here.

Emily our trainee nurse has passed the written part of her nursing examination and is due to take the practical section of it at the beginning of February which we wish her well with.

There have been many new additions to our team member’s families over the last 9 months; Jennifer Ching our associate dentist gave birth to a healthy baby girl named Emma Olivia Ching at the beginning of November, both mother and daughter are doing really well. Whilst Jennifer is on maternity leave we are pleased to welcome Katie Henry to the practice who will take care of Jennifer’s patients until her return in October.

Rachael Perrie one of our hygienist’s also gave birth at the beginning of November to a lovely baby boy named Aidan Edward Perrie, they are also both doing well. Rachael is due to return to us in August until then we have Hayley Warren here to cover her maternity leave.

Finally one of our nurses Tracey Gibson gave birth back in June to a healthy baby girl – Isobel Lily White who is growing up very quickly. Tracey is due back in March.

Steven Kell was appointed the official club dentist for Brighton and Hove Albion during last year so if you are a fan of the club you will see his name in their programmes! His duties include being called during a match should there be a facial/mouth injury to a player.

Steven has now stepped down from the role of BDA chairman after 2 years in the position but is still an active member in BDA meetings, and continues to be a training dentist to the foundation trainee’s we have at the practice.

We also now have the orthodontic company Total Orthodontics operating at the practice on Wednesday’s and Friday’s and are enjoying have some new faces around the practice.
